how to find your creative identity

(start with a reset)

Let me guess… You’ve got 100 ideas floating around in your head right now.

A new project, a side hustle, maybe even a total career shift. Your Notes app is a mess, your journals are half-full with brainstorms and you keep thinking:

“If only I could focus, things would finally fall into place.”

But instead of clarity, all you feel is stuck.

This isn’t about how much effort you put in or how “focused” you are. It’s about understanding why you feel this way.

when creativity feels like chaos

Your creativity isn’t the problem. Your ideas aren’t the problem.

What’s really happening is this:

  • You’ve been taught that you need to “narrow down” or “specialize” to succeed. That if you’re all over the place, you’re doing something wrong.

  • You’re constantly comparing yourself to others—people who seem to have it all figured out while you’re juggling too many directions.

  • And every time you try to take action, you freeze, wondering, “Is this even the right thing to do?”

Anything familiar?

If you’re nodding right now, know this: it’s not your fault. You’re wired for creativity, exploration and connecting dots others can’t see. The challenge is learning how to channel that into something meaningful—without losing yourself (or your mind) in the process.

why you’re stuck (and it’s not what you think)

Most creatives think the answer is simple:

  • “I just need to hustle harder.”

  • “Maybe I should stick to one thing.”

  • “If I organize my ideas better, this will all make sense.”

But none of those things will work until you answer one big question:

Who are you, really, as a creator?

When you’re not clear on your creative identity, it’s easy to:

  • Feel pulled in too many directions.

  • Get overwhelmed by comparison or perfectionism.

  • Spend more time overthinking than actually creating.

But when you are clear?
Everything. Starts. To. Click.

from chaos to clarity

By understanding your core values, worldview, aspirations and exploring your passions, interests, strengths, and creative process, you begin to form a clear picture of your unique style, voice, and the impact you want to create. This clarity allows you to integrate your identity more authentically into your work.

This is what happens when you find clarity in your creative identity:

  • Your ideas stop competing with each other. Instead, they connect to a bigger vision.

  • You start creating with intention instead of second-guessing every move.

  • You stop feeling “behind” and start building momentum.

Clarity doesn’t mean boxing yourself in. It doesn’t mean killing your creativity or picking one thing forever. It means knowing how to bring all your ideas together in a way that feels aligned, sustainable and exciting.
